The working characteristics of the stamping machine are the linear movement of the slider up and down, and the plate (belt) placed between the upper and lower molds is punched to complete the machining action. If a part of the human body (mainly the arm) is still between the upper and lower molds and does not leave in time, it will be injured. Therefore, to achieve the safety of stamping operations, safety protection devices must be installed in the hazardous area. At present, the commonly used safety protection devices are: safety starting device, mechanical protection device and automatic protection device.

(1) The function of the safety starting device is that when the operator’s limb enters the danger zone, the clutch of the stamping machine cannot be closed, or the slider cannot descend. . This device includes: a double handle combination device and a double button combination device. The principle of this facility is that during operation, the operator must start the switch with both hands to ask the press to turn on the power and start working, thereby ensuring safety.

(2) The mechanical protection device refers to when the slider descends. Try to separate the danger zone from the operator’s hand, or force the operator’s hand out of the danger zone to ensure safe production. This type of protective device includes: protective plate, push-type protective device, handle safety device. The mechanical protective equipment is simple in structure and convenient to manufacture, but it has a great impact on operation interference.

(3) Automatic protection device The device is to set light beams, air currents, electric fields, etc. around the danger zone of the die. Once the hand enters the danger zone, the light press, electricity, and gas control will automatically stop the press. At present, the commonly used automatic protection device is a photoelectric protection device. The principle is to set up a light emitter and a light receiver in the danger zone to form one or more beams of light. When the operator’s hand accidentally enters the danger zone, the light beam is blocked, so that the optical signal is converted into an electrical signal through the photoelectric tube. After the electrical signal is amplified, it is blocked with the start-up control circuit, so that the slider of the punching machine immediately stops working, thereby protecting it.
